• I followed the setup instructions. The only thing I couldn’t figure out is how to set permissions on the database. I have Pleske 8.1 and the instructions are for Plesk 7.

    When I try to open install.php in my browser I get a message

    The Requested Document was not Found on This Server.

  • In Plesk, I believe the Database User is automatically assigned privileges–it is not something you can control.

    Thre requested document not found could result from:
    1. putting the wrong address in your browser bar
    2. the file install.php doesn’t exist on your host
    3. your host isn’t configured to run PHP properly.

    Also I see on another thread, http://wordpress.org/support/topic/121776?replies=2#post-581943 you can’t FTP files to your host so that could be your problem.

    My host said that I should use the httpdocs folder, which I did.

    I saw the PhpMyAdmin says that the priveleges are set by the server. If the database does not have priveleges, would that stop the screen from displaying? PhpMyAdmin also said that the database has no tables.

    I viewed the source code when I accessed the installation in my browser using http://www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/install.php

    It gave me this:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC “-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN”>
    <HTML><HEAD>
    <META http-equiv=Content-Type content=”text/html;
    charset=windows-1252″></HEAD>
    <BODY></BODY></HTML>

    When I view install.php on the Ftp panel or the control panel of my webserver, I get code with information pertaining to the install.
