    Hi team

I’m helping a friend with her site. She experiences issues with bandwith, so we checked the logs, we deactivated all plugins and narrowed to MEC Calendar.

    Problem 1:
We found out that images attached to events entered on Sept 8 where called multiple times (visit logs from the same server IP), sometimes 30 times simultaneously, about every 10 minutes. The events entered in the past (some months ago) do not lead to the same issue.

    Problem 2:
We had php errors until we added imagick extension to php (GD was already active), errors such as:

[18-Sep-2020 16:58:36 UTC] PHP Warning: fopen(https://francoluzern.ch/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/franco_luzern_banner_atelier_cuisine_agenda-franco_luzern_banner_atelier_cuisine_agenda.png.png): failed to open stream: HTTP wrapper does not support writeable connections in /home/francoluzern/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-image-editor.php on line 494

Those errors appeared once every hour, so we thought about the MEC_scheduler cronjob, possible? Isn’t the GD library enough?

    Problem 3:
We found in the log 2 errors about the database:

[02-Sep-2020 08:42:05 UTC] Erreur de la base de données WordPress Specified key was too long; max key length is 1000 bytes pour la requête ALTER TABLE'wpgx_mec_users'ADD PRIMARY KEY ('id'), ADD UNIQUE KEY'email'('email'); faite par require('wp-blog-header.php'), require_once('wp-load.php'), require_once('wp-config.php'), require_once('wp-settings.php'), do_action('wp_loaded'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, MEC_feature_update->update, MEC_feature_update->version5110, MEC_db->q
[02-Sep-2020 08:42:05 UTC] Erreur de la base de données WordPress Incorrect table definition; there can be only one auto column and it must be defined as a key pour la requête ALTER TABLE 'wpgx_mec_users' MODIFY 'id' int NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT; faite par require('wp-blog-header.php'), require_once('wp-load.php'), require_once('wp-config.php'), require_once('wp-settings.php'), do_action('wp_loaded'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, MEC_feature_update->update, MEC_feature_update->version5110, MEC_db->q

WordPress and MEC Calendar (Lite) are up-to-date, PHP is 7.4
    Theme is Divi

Thank you very much in advance to check and tell us if those are bugs/something you are on.

    Best Regards

Oh, actually, narrowing further, the problem 1 might be related to MEC Fluent-view Layouts addon, we have 1.1.5, is that the latest version and are we allowed to talk about it here as it’s separated from MEC Calendar lite?
Prolems 2 and 3 stay valid

    Thx 🙂

I can now confirm, if we leave MEC Calendar active, and deactivate MEC Fluent-view Layouts addon, the bandwidth is usual and we do not see the images (from the events) being called dozen and dozen of times simultaneously (as seen in cPanel visitors log). If we have bothof them active, the plugin and the addon, the problem comes back.

I didn’t see that yesterday when posting the first message as obviously when both are deactivated, there is no problem 🙂

    Thx

    Hi Patricia,

I see they finally accepted responsibility. As devs it would have taken them literally 5 minutes to test this on their end. Let’s see what happens. But to be honest they have left a sour taste in my mouth.

Do you have any timeline as to when you think you will have the bug sorted out in regards to fluent-view addon. I double checked to get a new download and the changelog is still 1.1.5.

I’m sorry, my friend wants to change to another calendar plugin, so please disregard the link mentioned in the first comment. So we can close this, and I will follow your reply on RakieM post.
