Replacing non optimized pictures

    WP question from a VERY NEW Guy:

    If I upload a picture to my WP site, WP creates 3 copies. Desktop,Tablet & Phone. I now have 4 copies of the same picture and I decide to optmize the orginal picture. I do that and then replace the first picture I uploaded? What do I need to do about the 3 copies WP made of the First Picture? Will WP recreate them using the optimized second version?
