• Hi, my theme didn’t allow comments on pages, so I had to add some stuff to it to get the comments to work. They do now, but then it repeats the post. http://leavesofivy.com/Legend/?page_id=6

    There’s an example. Here is the code for my page.php I had to add the comments thing.

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

    <h2 id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></h2>

    <?php the_content(__(‘Read the rest of this page »’)); ?>
    <?php wp_link_pages(); ?>

    <?php edit_post_link(__(‘Edit’), ”, ”); ?>

    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    <?php endwhile; endif; ?>

    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    Now I dont know anything about anything when it comes to this, so help would be great.

    I hate to bump- but this is a site that a lot of people are using, and people keep reporting this “bug”

    So, you got repeat post after adding the following line?
    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    Can you post your comments.php in that theme folder? http://paste.uni.cc

    well sure I can, my comments.php is:

    <?php // Do not delete these lines
    if (‘comments.php’ == basename($_SERVER[‘SCRIPT_FILENAME’]))
    die (‘Please do not load this page directly. Thanks!’);

    if (!empty($post->post_password)) { // if there’s a password
    if ($_COOKIE[‘wp-postpass_’ . COOKIEHASH] != $post->post_password) { // and it doesn’t match the cookie
    ?>

    <?php _e(“This post is password protected. Enter the password to view comments.”); ?>

    <?php
    return;
    }
    }

    /* This variable is for alternating comment background, thanks Kubrick */
    $oddcomment = ‘alt’;
    ?>

    <!– You can start editing here. –>

    <?php if ($comments) : ?>

    <h2 id=”comments”>
    <?php comments_number(__(‘Comments’), __(‘1 Comment’), __(‘% Comments’)); ?>
    <?php if ( comments_open() ) : ?>
    “>»
    <?php endif; ?>
    </h2>

    <ol id=”commentlist”>

    <?php foreach ($comments as $comment) : ?>

    <li class=”comment<?php echo $oddcomment; ?>” id=”comment-<?php comment_ID() ?>”>
    <p class=”commentauthor”><?php comment_author_link() ?> <?php _e(‘said’); ?>,
    <p class=”commentmeta”><?php comment_date(‘F j, Y’) ?> <?php _e(‘at’); ?> ” title=”<?php _e(‘Permanent link to this comment’); ?>”><?php comment_time() ?> <?php edit_comment_link(__(“Edit”), ‘ · ‘, ”); ?>

    <?php comment_text() ?>

    <?php if (‘alt’ == $oddcomment) $oddcomment = ”; else $oddcomment = ‘alt’; ?>

    <?php endforeach; ?>

    <?php else : // This is displayed if there are no comments so far ?>

    I hope that helps you help me!

    Okay, you didn’t answer my question. I need to verify this.

    With the following line, you get repeat post; without it you don’t.
    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    Is that correct?
    It seems the post repeats only if you close the comment, huh?

    Next, post your page.php in the following site: http://paste.uni.cc

    (@mizzmuzikluvr)

    yes, only with
    <?php comments_template(); ?> do I get the repeat and no, it isnt just when comments are closed. It repeats the post under the ad comment box if commments are open, and I will post to that link as you asked.
