Removing RSS feed and Pre-header bar

I have an RSS feed and bar in the Pre-header area that I can’t get rid of. If I right click on them and look at them in the HTML code I can remove them that way but there’s no way of saving and when I return to the page they are still in place. I can edit the header but I can’t see how to edit the Pre-header. Grateful for any help with this.
