dashboard > pages Go to edit the page and scroll down to turn off comments. If you can’t see them click on screen options in the upper right corner.
Oh I never did notice the screen options. Thanks alot. 🙂
Actually that still didn’t remove them. :/
I still can’t get them removed. 🙁
Have you tried disabling all your plugins – the best way is just to rename the plugin folder and trying the twentyten theme?
Won’t renaming the plugins folder just only cause errors? Also, I tried disabling plugins but that didn’t help. Also I doubt changing the theme will help.
Since some plugins still affect wp even when turned off, renaming the folder is one of the standard debuging practices as changing to the twentyten theme to rule out theme problems.
After the above you could check out the db but since this is a new install you also have the option of reinstalling.
If I reinstall my blog then I would end up removing all the comments, posts, etc. That I have made to my blog…..
No you can save db and then import it. That is where all the data is.
But try this, delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders. DO not delete your wp-content folder.
Upload fresh files to the server to replace the deleted. Make sure you use the same WP version you have curently installed.
And confirm, you went to the page you want comments off, chose edit and turned comments off, saved, cleared your cache but they were still on?
Its alright I pretty much given up on it. If I knew wordpress was not stable I would of looked for a different blog software. I guess i’ll just live with it…
I even did what you just said and that didn’t worth either.
