Removing Comments and installing 3.2.1

    Hi
    I am using WordPress on 1&1 hosting and I am having problems upgrading to 3.2.1 – it just won’t do it! Is anyone else having these problems? Should I move my hosting?

    Also, I have tried everything to remove the comments/reply box from my pages. I have gone into the screen options and unpicked the comments box, the show author and everything else but it is still there.

    Hoping someone can help.

    Hi Anna,

    You might have to manually update WP then by uploading into your server:
    1. all root files from the wp-root folder;
    2. Directories wp-admin and wp-includes;
    Don’t upload wp-content or else all your plugins and themes will disappear.

    As for your comments box, Screen options only hide/display options in the admin panel. If you wish to disable commenting on your pages, you should do so by going into each of your pages’ editing window and unchecking the “Allow comments in this entry” option on all the pages for which you wish to disable comments.
