    Hey,

I’m trying to figure out how to remove blockquote sections of my posts from the excerpts on the main page. Some of my posts tend to be reviews and so I like to include a brief blockquote of basic information about the product as an intro. Since it comes before my Read More tag, however, it obviously shows up in the preview excerpt of the post.

Is there a simple way to tell it to not include the blockquote and only include the normal content before the Read More? I only have a very basic understanding of coding, so I’m not really sure what to be looking for. You can take a look at the very first post on my page to understand what I mean.

    Thanks

    Thanks for using Tracks!

The easiest way to do this is to use a Custom Excerpt instead. While editing the Post, you should see an Excerpt box below the editor (like this). If you don’t see it, scroll to the top of the page, click on “Screen Options” in the top-right corner, and check off the “Excerpt” box.

Using the Excerpt box, you can add the excerpt without the blockquote.

Awesome, thanks a lot! I didn’t even think to look for something like that.
