Remove “www.” from search engines

Hi,

Google is showing www. and non-www versions of my site. Also, sitemap generated by Rath Math has www in it.

fyi:I have submitted that sitemap to google a day ago (it hasn’t appeared yet besides the homepage)

My question is:
1. How can i hide www. on google?
2. Do i have to have a non www sitemap after i remove www. from google?

There are 2 tutorials you need to follow in here:
1. Add the preferred version to your .htaccess file. You might need to contact your website hosting:

2. Once done, then verify your website following this method:

Hi,

I always want to serve https version of the site coz it’s an e-commerce site. But i don’t want the “www.” and ” https:// ” to appear on google search (if possible), in this case what would be my code?

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.YourDomain.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://YourDomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Yes, that code seems correct. Here’s another article on the same:

Just to mention that just adding the HTTPS might work.

But, there is a simpler solution, which is to use the Really Simple SSL plugin.

I don’t like the plugin way, SSL is enabled on my website.

Just to mention that just adding the HTTPS might work.

You mean I shall add “HTTPS” on line 2?
And also add “https” on line 3?

Try adding it to the 3rd line.

Also, please update the website and site URL inside WordPress’s General settings:
https://i.rankmath.com/1lQp35
