Remove unused header space

    Total newbie here, thanks in advance…
    I’ve created my site using the Merlin theme. I recently installed a slider in the header and no longer need the other features/space that were included with the theme. I’d like for the header to be only the slider, the padding on the bottom and sides is fine, but there’s too much on the top. I’ve tried deleting elements of the header.php but it always has an unintended impact on the site overall.
    How can I delete this blank space on the top?

    Hello, any help?
    Looking at the header, there’s about an inch of blank/white space on the top, I want to remove that. I’d also like to remove the padding from the sides and bottom too.
