Is there any way to remove the story titles from the carousel widget? We already put the titles on our Story Posters, and it looks pretty bad when you have both. (See sidebar on this page https://365atlantatraveler.com/things-to-do-in-blue-ridge-ga/)

We were asked to put the titles on the Posters so they show up in Discover and search results, so it seems to make sense to give the option to remove added titles in the widget. This may be an enhancement request – I’m not seeing it in the widget options.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @dp409 Hi there, thanks for your topic.

Web Story is built with HTML code (using the AMP framework). HTML is what search engines use to read the content of your pages and determine how they will appear in search.

To clarify, the cover page is the first page of the story, whereas the poster image is the static image that convinces readers to tap on your story and what gets displayed on platforms like Google Discover and Google Search. You should avoid burned-in text (like this) on your poster image because “burned-in” text would not appear in the HTML and search engines cannot crawl it.

Also, the required structured data like title, publisher, and logo will already get added when you go through the story creation process.

Regarding your question about the title, could you go to Appearance > Widgets to check if you see an option to check off/on the Display Title setting?

As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!
