    Hello,

I have been trying to remove a search box for a couple of hours this afternoon. The search box is right in the header area.

I seem to have had success in removing the following:

    a). The “search” text.
b). The complete functionality of the search box (ie. the box now seems to be part of the header background).

I just can’t seem to get rid of the white rectangular box. I have already tried to “trial and error” many different parts of the code, but can’t seem to turn the color into the same color as the rest of the header. It is really a problem of turning a small white box into the same background color.

Does anyone have any ideas how to remove this search box? If you would like me to provide some code, please let me know which area supply the code.

    Thanks,

    Gary

No, unfortunately, I don’t know how to do that.

One way is to create an image of the same dimensions (as the existing image) and assing it the same name (as the existing image), and then upload it to replace the existing image.

this wau you can also tell if the search box was superimposed on the image or not.

if you want to save the existing image, rename it before replacing it

gee – this thread is so out of sync 😉

    anyway – here ( http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/2190/headerorange.jpg ) is a copy of header-orange.jpg with the white box removed;
if you like, you can upload it to your theme folder, into the subfolder /colorstyles; to replace the existing header-orange.jpg.

    Success!!

Thanks to you both for your suggestion of replacing the image. I was able to replace the original jpg with the new jpg provided by alchymth (that did not have the white box).

I did exactly as you instructed in the last post alchymth, and it worked perfectly.

Thank you again t-p and alchymth!

Happy and relieved to finally move forward with this theme on my site. Persistent finally pays off.
