Remove obsolete XFN profile link from header.php

    Hi,

    Thanks for the great theme.
    I noticed your theme includes this line in the header.php:12 

    <link rel="profile" href="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11" />

    Since XFN 1.1 is an obsolete standard, removing it cleans up the and avoids an unnecessary HTTP call.
    Could you please consider removing this tag in a future update?

    Thanks for the kind words and for the suggestion!

    You’re right that XFN 1.1 is an obsolete standard at this point — it dates back to 2003, and WordPress dropped this line from its own default themes starting with Twenty Twenty-One. We’ve removed it from Academica, and the change will ship in the next update.

    One small clarification: the tag doesn’t actually cause an HTTP request. Browsers treat rel=”profile” as purely declarative metadata and never fetch that URL, so there was no performance cost — just an unneeded line in the <head>. Still worth cleaning up, so thanks for flagging it!
