Remove default formatting for location field

Hey, I’m using your plugin as part of the Listify theme from Astoundify. Thanks!

Excuse my lack of technical expertise with the question below. Not a total noob but I’m also not super comfortable writing PHP.

I’m using your plugin to manage a series of businesses within one building – i.e., they all have the same address (location) EXCEPT for their unit number.

I’d like the location field to output the address exactly as users input it.

Currently, if user A enters “Unit 5, 123 Street”, it’ll automatically add a state and country to that address. Is it possible to stop that from happening?

I’d also be happy if the location field could be automatically populated with the correct address, and I could add have a custom field for the Unit # that gets automatically pre-pended to the location field.

Hmm…

I think what I’d do in this situation is just stop using the default location field (hide it), and then make a custom field for inputting the unit number. This way you won’t get the state and country added.

To add a field, you can use functions and/or filters inside a functionality plugin:

… which has a nice GUI for adding and editing fields.

To remove the existing location field, you can add this code:

Thanks for the quick reply, Adam.

I’m already using WP Job Manager Field Editor, and had created a custom field as you mention – I just don’t know how/where to call that custom field in order to get it to output on the Listings sidebar.
