Have you tried clicking on Quick Edit for each page/post and unchecking allow comments there?
If that does not work, it’s likely that your theme is too outdated – as it’s not been updated for 4+ years:

You’d be well advised to find a more current theme.

Hi I was wondering if someone could help me in removing the ability to make comments on posts and anywhere else on my blog. I am using the Apricot theme. I have gone into the discussion area and unchecked all availability there but comments are still showing up on my theme. Thanks.
