Remove category links

    I don’t use categories on my site. In fact, I’ve put a 301 redirect in place if the category page is visited. How can I remove category links from the sitemap that is generated? There seems to be 100s of them. For example:

    /categories/uncategorized/
    /categories/uncategorized/page/2/
    /categories/uncategorized/page/3/
    etc…
