Remove Blogroll Categories

I want to remove the Blogroll meta categories in the sidebar of my theme, leaving just the archive and the Search function. But I’ve tried taking out portions of the sidebar.php file and it doesn’t work; it just generates an error message. Here’s the specific code in my sidebar.php file:
