    It seems like the whole page is reloading when I press the search button after I entered filter values. Is this normal? Can’t it just refresh the area of the job board? A whole page refresh seems stupid as you have to scroll to the tool again?

    Yes, the whole page is refreshed when any of the job is filtered through SJB Search Bar.

    You can customize the Job Board to make the search bar Ajax-based by exploring its code hierarchy.
