    Hi

    Is it possible to set WordPress up so that visitors can Register ONLY, just logging their details etc. without access to their profile or commenting etc.

    We just want the details for a Newsletter, probably utilising Wysija or similar

    Use a plugin like User Role Editor that controls how much access different user roles have to the backend. You can even create a new user type with very limited access.
