• Hello,

we noticed two usability issues with the country <select> dropdown on the affiliate registration form on a localized site (German):

    1. Inconsistent Alphabetical Sorting: The country options appear to be sorted alphabetically by their original English names before translation. Once translated into German, the list order breaks. For example, Zypern (Cyprus) and Tschechien (Czech Republic) are listed between Kroatien (Croatia) and Dänemark (Denmark). Sorting the list based on the localized labels (or sorting after translation) would make finding a country much easier for non-English users.
    2. Mixed Capitalization: The option labels currently mix Title Case and ALL CAPS (e.g., WEIHNACHTSINSEL, Kokosinseln, KOLUMBIEN). Standardizing all labels to Title Case would clean up the UI significantly.

Would it be possible to clean up the casing and sort the translated options alphabetically in a future update in order to improve the UX?

    Best regards,
    Robert

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Your issue might be related to the language file. If your site is in German, please check the following link. Unfortunately we don’t control the translation to other languages other than English. You are most welcome to edit the translation for your language.

The following documentation can help you as to edit or translate the files.

    Hello @mbrsolution ,

As mentioned in the first post, this concerns the sorting of the Select options.

It’s not about missing translations, but rather about inconsistent casing and incorrect sorting.

See the screenshot for an example from the options list: https://ibb.co/QFNqdjYQ.

You should be able to reproduce this by setting up a fresh WordPress installation, setting the language to German (anything other than EN should be affected), and then viewing the affiliate registration page as a guest.

The options are sometimes hard to find, because as a user, I expect them to be in the correct order.

Can you reproduce or understand what I mean?
