Registration broken on WordPress.org

    Hey guys,
    been trying to sign up for your support forums but registration is broken. Once I click the verification link in my email, it asks me to set a password, but before I can type anything, the password field disappears and gets replaced by a banner telling me the password is strong. Tried 3 browsers and 2 computers with always the same result. In the end I just pressed the blue button at the bottom of the screen and it logged me in and I changed my password in the profile page immediately.
    But it took me about 30 minutes to figure it out, especially since I tried reaching out to wordpress.org through any other channel…
    Maybe you guys want to take a look at this. I’m fine now, but I’m probably not the only person affected by this…

    Various pieces of the login pages changed in 5.3, and we need to update the login system here to compensate. It may be broken for a short time before that happens.
