I was trying to refund an item because the client had purchased it accidentally twice. But after pressing on the refund button, the manually return or the gateway return buttons aren’t showing.

    Hi @kruidenhemel,

I understand the refund buttons do not show when you’re trying to process a refund. This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Go to refund the product and check again

If you’re not seeing the same behavior after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

Reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, go on and reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

    Thanks.

Thank you for the quick reply…found the culprit: It was the “Woocommerce Payment” plugin Version 4.0.2

If I disable or remove that then ppl won’t be able to pay on the site…which other payment processing plugin should I install then?

    Authorize, Stripe…?
    Any suggestions?

And can I use refund even after deactivating the Woocommerce Payment plugin and installing a different one?

    Hi there,

Glad to know it’s working! However, I find it rather strange the culprit is the WooCommerce Payments plugin since it’s developed by Automattic and the product is fully compatible with WooCommerce core.

I would suggest getting in contact with the WooCommerce Payments support team on this specific forum as they may have additional feedback for you:

    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-payments/

There is a large range of Payment Gateway options for WooCommerce to provide payment options for your customers. This document provides additional tips on choosing the right payment gateway for your site.
