I’m also having the same issue. I read somewhere to change the “MATCH” from “URL & Server” to just URL but when I do that I cannot save (the SAVE button is greyed out).
Imported all redirections from a CSV file – dunno if that’s anything to do with it.
When I check redirect I get a
Check redirect for: http://pdf/SAF/PSC2016.pdf
Expected: 301 to https://acola.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/saf12-project-steering-committee2016.pdf
Found: 500
Agent: Not using Redirection
I notice the URL https://acola.org.au/wp is missing from the sourceURL so I’m sure there’s something going on there. Base URL is https://acola.org.au
Works same for pdf files as normal files

@yoonmi as indicated by the 500 error, your server is having problems. Any URL on your site that doesn’t exist is returning the error:
https://www.treasurecoastair.com/fd
You will need to fix whatever is causing the problem
@objectman that is a different problem. http://pdf/SAF/PSC2016.pdf is not a valid URL. Unless you are redirecting from another domain then a ‘URL Match’ is all you need. If you cannot save it is because you haven’t entered a target.
For that particular example, when I enter the full (.org.au) URL https://acola.org.au/wp/PDF/SAF/PSC2016.pdf
it automatically truncates the address to
/wp/PDF/SAF/PSC2016.pdf
The target URL is on a different server (.org) . . .

Yes, the URL is truncated as the domain is not needed. However, your original message says that you are checking the URL http://pdf/SAF/PSC2016.pdf, which is not a valid URL and doesn’t match your source URL. Can you include a screenshot of the redirect in Redirection?
Also, as this is a PDF I will direct you to https://redirection.me/support/faq/#pdf
I write the full source URL and Redirection truncates it to that (invalid) URL. Although it looks and acts as if it’s okay – and then you test it – and the URL is invalid. It’s like Redirection can’t see the domain it’s on. It does this for each case. PDFs and normal urls.
Is there a setting? I’m just redirecting from the .com.au domain to a more SEO friendly name of the same file hosted on the .org domain. – should be simple right?
I’m not able to reproduce the source URL being converted to http://pdf/SAF/PSC2016.pdf. However, it is correct for it to be converted to /wp/PDF/SAF/PSC2016.pdf
Is the redirect a ‘URL only’ match?
No. Could it be a server issue?
Possibly, but it doesn’t sound like it. However I am unable to reproduce the problem. Maybe if you include some screenshots it might reveal something missing.
