Redirecting the home page

I am using a wordpress blog to promote a site. Ultimately I would like the blog to be at http://example.com/blog and for right now have http://example.com redirect to http://example.com/blog. What’s the best way to do this?

Right now I have the wordpress blog’s URL at http://example.com. I’m guessing that should be http://example.com/blog and then redirect http://example.com using the .htaccess file?
