• My website is situated on http://www.xxxxx.com/1 (fake/example url)
I want to redirect http://www.xxxxx.com/ to go directly to http://www.xxxxx.com/1
I have the option of doing this through my hosting/domain provider (godaddy) but from my understanding the /1 will still show up unless I turn on masking.
One more problem – I want the subcategories of /1 to show up, so for example if someone were to click on a page http://www.xxxxx.com/blog
it would take them to http://www.xxxxx.com/1/blog but still display http://www.xxxxx.com/blog
Once again, from my understanding, masking would cover the URL with the
http://www.xxxxx.com now matter what page you go to… So that is not an option.
I thought I could do this through the WordPress Address (URL), Site Address (URL) settings in general settings, and copying and moving the .htaccess or index files after. But when I attempted to change either one of those, it tells me “Settings saved.”, yet both the URLs stay the same. Is something not working in the system?

Any advise on how to go about with this?
    Thank you
