Redirected to remote file

    I’m noticing in the log, messages of “Redirected to Remote File”. Can someone please explain what this means? I checked one of these files from the web site and got a messaged that the file was not found. But I can still play the audio an the same page (it’s a church sermon mp3 file). Has my site been hacked?

    Hey,

    This message means Download Monitor redirected a download request to a remote website. This normally doesn’t mean you’ve been hacked, it just means you set an external URL as the file(version) path/URL.

    Thanks very much for your reply. I’m confused though, all the mp3 files that I have uploaded have gone into the Media Library of my wordpress web site. How could these be considered external?
