    I’m working on a template for a friend, and am currently developing it on my personal site. I’m almost done with it, so please take a look and let me know what you think. I’ve checked it in most browsers and it looks pretty good, except some minor problems in Firefox (win) I haven’t fiddled with yet. It also looks like there may be a problem with the colors Firefox (win) is able to display.

    Also, is there a way to double space paragraphs without breaking validation?

    Well, that’s pretty nice! On a quick look-through (on FF1.0.3) I didn’t see anything truly glaring as to problems.

    With the double-space paragraphs situation, I’d set up a specified <p> with some bottom padding: #content p {padding-bottom: 5%;} (or whatever measurement you choose of course). Now if you meant double-space the WHOLE paragraph (with a double-space following EACH line of the paragraph, that is), I’d use a specified <p> element with line-height set for double your normal for the site.
