Hi,

Im a beginner here. Looking for a theme to go with business plan: website for local area with events, listings, buy-sell, and forum, plus ad space.

Any ideas gratefully received,

Try using the “Feature Filter” option when searching a theme, to search by criteria: https://wordpress.org/themes/
You can then search the Plugins repository for any functionality not covered in the theme: https://wordpress.org/plugins/

Thank you; have tried without much success; or possibly with success but I haven’t realised 🙂

Not one of the free ones, but there are plenty of premium themes and plugins to do what your looking for. I won’t post the links on here since I’m not 100% sure on the policy linking to outside sites.
