I have included the Recent Jobs widget in the footer of my website. The problem is that when there are no jobs available the widget does not show leaving a blank column on my footer. What I would like, or expect to see, is the title still appear with a message stating that there are no jobs currently available.

According to the following ticket this was supposed to be resolved, however for me the widget just does not get generated. It works fine when jobs are available or have not yet expired:

Your help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to leave this widget in my footer.

    Thanks.

You can create a single-job_listing.php file in your theme https://wpjobmanager.com/document/dealing-troublesome-themes/#section-2 and remove its sidebar.

Sorry, replied to the wrong thread.

The thread you referenced was about the main jobs shortcode; not the widget. How often do you have no jobs to make this a problem? Can you not pad out the column with another widget e.g. text widget.

Oh sorry, I thought that fix included the recent_job_widget as per his comment:
… “I would like to add a message (EG: No open Positions, Please check back later) if there are no current open jobs on the recent jobs widget and job search page.”

I use your WP Job Manger (great plugin by the way) on a company website that does frequent hiring for themselves, not as a job board. So quite frequently when they are not hiring there will be no jobs listed. My footer has four columns, one of which I have added the recent job widget to so when they have jobs available they are advertised on all pages of the site. Is there a way that I can make the widget still show with a message like on the main jobs shortcode? I am unsure of how I would pad out the column when it is not there and then remove the padding when there are jobs.

    Thanks for your help.
