Hi, I’m reporting an error on my website, where I updated WordPress to 7.0 and your plugin to the latest version, 1.55.0.

The problem only appears in the backend of the site when editing a page containing a contact form created with Forminator with reCAPTCHA V3 enabled.

The reCAPTCHA V3 also loads in the backend, but it displays an error:

“Site owner ERROR: Invalid domain for site key”

Actually, in the Google Cloud Console, the system tells me that the keys I entered for the reCAPTCHA V3 are valid and working.

Furthermore, this error didn’t appear with Forminator version 1.53.2, before I updated the plugin.

I’ve also attached some screenshots to help you understand the problem:

    Before the updates:
web-napoli.it contact page forminator version 1.53.2 back end: https://prnt.sc/gtEpUuJyFA-T

web-napoli.it contact page forminator version 1.53.2 front end:

reCAPTCHA V3 key from Google Cloud Console:

    After the updates:

web-napoli.it contact page forminator version 1.55.0 back end:

web-napoli.it contact page forminator version 1.55.0 front end:

What could be causing this error?

Looking forward to your feedback, regards.

  • Hello @lineadiconfine ,

I hope you are doing well, and I am sorry you have faced this problem.

I was able to replicate the issue on my lab sites.

On my end, the issue occurs with both WordPress 6.9.4 and WordPress 7.0, as well as Forminator 1.53.2 and Forminator 1.55.

I have already reported the issue to our Forminator development team for further investigation.

We will keep you updated on this ticket as soon as we receive any new information from the team.

    Kind Regards,
    Fida Al Hasan

Ok thanks you! I will wait for your news through the ticket.

    Hello @lineadiconfine ,

I would like to provide you with an update regarding the issue you reported.

Our Forminator development team has confirmed that this is a bug in the plugin.

Starting with WordPress 7.0 and Forminator 1.53.0, the WordPress Block Editor is loaded inside an iframe whose URL uses the blob:[SITE_URL] scheme. As a result, the CAPTCHA is unable to load correctly within the Block Editor.

Unfortunately, resolving this issue requires changes to the Forminator plugin code. The bug has already been reported to our developers and has been added to their development queue.

At this time, we don’t have an estimated timeline (ETA) for the fix. To stay informed about upcoming releases, you can subscribe to our roadmap: https://wpmudev.com/roadmap/

Once the fix is released, it will also be documented in the Forminator changelog: https://wordpress.org/plugins/forminator/#developers

Since the issue has been confirmed, reported, and assigned to our development team, we are marking this ticket as resolved. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

    Kind Regards,
    Fida Al Hasan
