• I can’t login to WordPress due to reCAPTCHA error. When I submit, the login form waits quite a while, and then errors with “Human verification failed. Please click the square box in the reCAPTCHA block below.”.

I tried this in a private browser window, and also enabled web console and I see the Javascript error below which must cause this –

    recaptcha__en.js:400 ReCAPTCHA couldn’t find user-provided function: form_button_enabler

That is strange. I believe there have not been any website changes since I last logged in 3 days ago.

Do I need to perform the steps at the topic “I can’t login / I’m locked out of my site”?

    Thanks for any help

Please open the browser console (F12 key) and try to log in again. What errors do you see?

Ok, I tried again and I see the same error-

    recaptcha__en.js:400 ReCAPTCHA couldn’t find user-provided function: form_button_enabler

This error appears when I click the ReCAPTCHA checkbox.

That was Chrome, and it’s the same in Firefox –
    ReCAPTCHA couldn’t find user-provided function: form_button_enabler recaptcha__en.js:400:220

We may be under a DDOS attack currently. Lots of other things under our domain are affected, slower, bounceback emails, etc. Maybe that is affecting ReCAPTCHA also. I will wait.

Other things all seem fine now, but I still receive the same error with the reCAPTCHA on WordPress login form. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Update – I tried this morning and the same error still showed in Web Console, but my login succeeded. I tried another time successfully to be sure.
