  • After using this plugin successfully for a few years and paying for the Premium version, Wordfence has really let me down.

    Seems like during an auto-update, Wordfence managed to uninstall itself. No real idea why, and I received no email from the plugin telling me as much. 6 days later I noticed, and it’s been nothing short of a struggle getting support to get it to work again. I’ve made no fundamental updates to my site. So far I’ve been told to re-install it and that’s about it.

    Giving in a few more days and then just moving to Securi. Frustrated.

    Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with Wordfence. Unfortunately a few users did experience problems with auto update in our last release. It was due to some files not being properly deleted on the server during the reinstall. We’re on it and will be adding some new code that should prevent this from happening in the future.

    Getting it to work again should be very simple though – just delete the “wordfence” folder in wp-content/plugins and reinstall from the WordPress plugins page. All your data is saved in the database so settings will be intact.
