I don’t understand the questions: is the radio button/other form field not working? It does not save the value typed in to the “other” field?

i was thinking that perhaps other: could hold preset value like something i could select. For example, you could have 2 radio buttons to select country and “other” to select city, like a dropdown kind of select.

Hmm, that would be very unusual, usually the “other” value would be for the same field because it is saved instead of the selected value.
Normally, you’d have a separate field for the city. Maybe you are looking for a dropdown that would only show cities from the selected country? You’ll need to use a custom setup for that, I have an article that discusses a simple way to do that…it does require you know some php and javasctipt.

your fix works perfectly on default WP theme but it fails on Jnews theme for some reason. No errors but it just not working. Also I installed Participants Template addon for this but no luck.
I will try to resolve this somehow.

If it’s not working, I suggest you take a look at the Browser Developer Tools console to see if there is a javascript error.
It is most likely a conflict with javascript that the theme has on that page.
I posted working version of your script for Jnews theme but its somehow missing now. If you want I can send it again.

You can email it to me, I don’t recommend you post it here, people will try to use it and it may not work for them.
If I understand the problem, I can perhaps alter the script so that it will work more reliably with all themes.
