Questions Before Using This

Before I spend hours trying to deal with how to get something done with this plugin I’m going to ask and check on support for it. That’ll help me decide whether to proceed or just keep looking for something suitable.

1. Can these listings be non viewable to non members or non logged in members? So the posts don’t even show up anywhere or with a message about being a logged in member to view listings? If this is doable, how is it done specifically? (Follow up: is it an option to make the listings viewable to a specific member role/group? If so, how?)

2. I have a different registration form that includes required information about a previous product purchase so when they register, I need these fields to show up. Can I add additional fields to the registration option and just use that one, OR if it’s not possible, and I still use a different registration form how do I bridge that form to register with the directorist registration – or how do I turn off directorist registration so it uses the one I already use and need?

Explanation in case there is another option: I have 3 user roles. Two of them would be able to use directorist to create listings but would be registered differently, providing different information. The separate registration is required, it’s not an option to blend and merge. It’s two groups, two different registration forms/fields so I know what group they’re registering for….but each could still post listings. I need a way to make that happen. Any suggestions on how to do this?

3. How do you turn off the featured image inside the post? It’s huge, the cropping doesn’t work or do anything…the image might be 600×300 on the home post page but when you click to the post itself, the image is huge, blurry and ugly. I need to know where to change that or remove the element from the post page itself. This one issue is just about to push me out the door to never using this for anything. It needs to be resolved.

4. Is there a way to make directorist work with native wp categories and tags that are usually connected to normal posts? I prefer my theme’s post pages/full page layout and for those archive/category pages to come up but it seems directorist uses something else and my native categories don’t even show up. I have to basically add them all again separately. How do I use BOTH of them or just wp categories and tags?

The biggest problem I see with it is that directorist basically takes over the registration and log in to post listings and doesn’t allow for user roles and to use other, custom login/registration.

Is this resolvable or do I need to keep looking?
