question on download / upload

    I need basic starter help.

    basic info:
    a.) I have a godaddy web host account, there is a very basic website there already
    b.) I read the word press Installing WordPress page, still have questions (not familiar enough with the computer lingo)

    to download and use word press, do I:
    1.) download wordpress to my computer then unzip (done)
    2.) upload unzipped files to godaddy account (not sure on this one)
    3.) run / install it (most help needed here)

    Hi,

    You will need to download a copy of WordPress to your local machine, upload via FTP to your GoDaddy account.

    Create your database and associated user, visit your URL, run though the installation process inputting the database details you previously created.

    You will need install wordpress in a folder if you already have website in your root. You can use wordpress installer that Go daddy provides.

    thanks, I found the word press install area on go daddy. No problems.
