Question about themes

I’m working on a site that has been loading slowly. It occurred to me that the theme I’m using (Shop Isle) is an e-commerce theme. (I should have known by the name, right?) I’m not using the site for any e-commerce; it’s a straight business site with images and text — no products. Could the fact that I’m using this theme be a factor in the loading of the pages? Or not?
