Question about the campaign progress thermometer

    I’m testing the campaign progress thermometer for my 4K Camera Fund campaign. I added the shortcode [donor_merchant_progress campaign="1"] to the page and checked the preview.

    The thermometer appears as a bar, but it doesn’t display any numbers, dollar amounts, or percentage showing how much of the goal has been reached.

    Is there a setting to display the amount raised, the campaign goal, and the percentage of progress? If not, is this something that could be added or customized?

    For example, my campaign has a $2,100 goal, so I’d like visitors to see how much has been raised and how close we are to reaching the goal.

    Hi Tony,

    Thanks for the link. I looked at your page, and the thermometer is coming through empty, which is what it does when the campaign doesn’t have a goal saved yet. Nothing is wrong with the shortcode, and there’s no setting to turn on: once a goal amount is set, it shows the amount raised, the goal and the percentage on its own, like “$1,250.00 of $2,100.00 goal” with the bar and “60%” underneath.

    The goal is missing because Charitable’s donation export doesn’t include campaign goals, so after the import it starts at zero.

    To fix it:

    1. Go to Donor Merchant > Campaigns and edit the 4K Camera Fund.
    2. Enter 2100 in the Goal field and save.
    3. Reload your fundraiser page. If you use a caching plugin, clear its cache first.

    Two quick checks while you’re there:

    • The number in your shortcode should match the number in the Shortcode column on the Campaigns screen. For example, if 4K Camera Fund shows as campaign 2, use [donor_merchant_progress campaign=”2″].
    • If the raised amount then shows $0.00 even though you imported gifts for this campaign, those gifts came in without a campaign attached. The steps in your other thread fix that, and the thermometer updates as soon as they’re linked.

    Version 2.5.5, now available, makes this clearer: a thermometer without a goal amount shows nothing to visitors, and administrator sees a short note with a link to set the goal amount. It also imports Charitable’s campaign, date and test mode columns automatically.
