Hello there, my database is growing bigger since i use translatepress. What can happen if i simply check:

Remove CDATA for original and dictionary strings
Remove untranslated links from dictionary tables
Remove duplicate rows for gettext strings
Remove duplicate rows for dictionary strings
Remove duplicate rows for original dictionary strings

    and then “Optimize Database” ?

I am not sure, i spent a lot of time to translate 3 languages and dont want to loose it. I tested in XAMPP in localhost, there i had 180MB database, after i run “Optimize Database” then after that my database decreased to 80MB. That looks fine, but what can happen in worst case?

I would be happy about your answer. In your documentation i cant not find more details. Thank you 🙂

  • Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Before optimizing your database we usually recommend you make a backup of your database.

Worst case scenario, some of the translations that you need might be deleted.

If you still encounter growing of your database over the normal dimensions please get back to me and we will look into this.

    Best Regards
