Question About Favorites

So I tried setting up my favorites list using the shortcode provided, but for some reason when the list shows up in the front end, the button that shows next to the thumbnail is the favorite button, and not the favorited button. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Then when I press on the favorites button on the favorites list, the button keeps spinning. What’s going on?

Can anyone help me with this?

Also, is it possible to show the Favorites button on select pages? I do not wish to put it on all pages, but I’m confused how to do this.
