• One – and only one – of my sites continues to display this message about 5.2.2:

“An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.”

The updates page displays this message:

“You have the latest version of WordPress. Future security updates will be applied automatically.”

The site otherwise operates with no problem. How can I remove the message about a failure to load the update?

You can go to the Updates screen and click the Re-install now button. This will download a fresh copy of WordPress and replace any missing or broken files with the correct ones. This is a non-destructive operation, nothing will be lost.

Thanks for your reply. I was dreading that as a solution. I have a very slow and often interrupted internet service, so such large files are often lost. The last WordPress update install I did via FTP which was very slow. I was hoping there might be a particular file in the WP location I could replace by FTP. Have you any suggestions?

Your internet connection doesn’t matter, the reinstall button downloads it from your server, not from your computer.
