Quest child how to?

Hi there, I’m trying to create a child theme for the Quest theme but I can’t get it to work using the new standard method suggested in the codex https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

I’m following this Quest tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOFcPthGO54 but I want to create a child theme so I can customize things even further.

Can someone tell me the correct steps of how to go about creating a child theme for the Quest theme, using the new standard practice recommended by wordpress.org.

I have done it in the past using the old @import url(‘…./style.css’) method, but I can’t seem to get it to work using the new method in the codex.

p.s. I’m working locally on my machine if that makes any difference?
