Support » Plugins » qtranslate and permalinks

  • I’ve been searching for a solution on this one for over a month now but no luck. I’ve even e-mailed the plugin author but no response 🙁

I’m using qtranslate with WP 2.5.1 and it works like a charm… except for one thing.

Everytime I specify a custom permalink structure e.g. /%postname%, I get a 404 not found. I’ve managed to make the default language work by using index.php/%postname% as permalink structure but still, the 404 not found page apears when i switch language.

I would really love to get away from the default permalink structure (?page_id=7&lang=en), so if anyone knows, please please please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated!

  • hi,

i’m using wp 2.5.1 with qtranslate as well. i got the permalinks to work using index.php/%category%/%postname%.html

and i also had to create a .htaccess file which holds the mod_rewrite as proposed by wordpress. without this file i also had 404’s

so maybe that solves your problem.

i followed this tutorial on how to do it. good luck 🙂
