Publishing changes to widgets

I can not publish changes made to the widgets. I have the current version of wordpress and plug-ins. Also have recently added web security advanced through godaddy. Was originally blocked from publishing any changes to website. Firewall was blocking my IP address. That issue has been resolved, but I still can not publish changes in widgets. I get the following error message: There was an error. The response is not a valid JSON response.
