Publish date

hi group.
A couple of questions on publish dates,
1) once a publish date is set, can it be updated / changed to any other dates as required?
2) Is it possible to show and add and not show the publish date?

If I set an add to start on 08/08/2026 and say on 18/08/26 I wanted to edit the date to start on 18/08/26 I am unable to.
I can only select the 08th of the following month, see screen shot below;
and if I select this, the add disapears from the classifieds assuming due to it not being in date yet..?
the reason to do this is probably just in the ealry days while messing about with it. and it is so the date can be renewed as and when wanted to keep adds looking new if required.
Perhaps the current method now could be adjusted in weeks and months?
