WordPress shows it being in the “Post” or “Publish” area but i dont see it!
Anyone?
where does wordpress show it?
Arrrrgh!
I saw wordpress add about their new features:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
Then checked my profile, page of just published article before and after publication, and i didn’t found publicize anywhere.
Then decided to search from google about it and found this thread. OK, started wondered same thing as i.. -but this is becoming hilarious when reading answers to it.
Others haven’t even heard of it. π
It’s a feature of wordpress.COM wordpress hosted websites with a URL like something.wordpress.com
The support article you linked to is from their support forum
This is wordpress.ORG
publicize is a plugin that exists on the .COM platform only, not the .ORG self-hosted inatsll
I have two WordPress Blogs. One that my website company set up for me (www.elm-atl.com/blog) and one that I set up (www.iZiggATL.WordPress.com). They are each for two different topics.
My iZiggATL site has the Publicize Feature. To tell you where to find it, if it’s available on your Blog: Login to your Dashboard / Click on Settings in your Left Nav Bar / Click on Sharing… this is where you will find the Publicize Features.
I, however, do not have this feature on my ELM Blog. Can anyone tell me why not, if I can add it, and how to add it to this blog?
http://www.iZiggATL.WordPress.com is, once more, a WordPress.COM feature.
If you’re hosting on .com you get it. If not, there’s no plugin for use on a self-hosted install at this time.
It’s because it is only available to wordpress.COM users, not wordpress.ORG users.
I guess the better question is how do I know who is the host of my ELM Blog? WordPress.com or WordPress.org? I didn’t create the blog, I maintain it. Therefore, I do not know which it was created under.
My answer could be very obvious, since I do not have the Publicize feature.
WordPress.org doesn’t host anyone. They provide software which you install onto your own servers.
Viewing the page source of your ELM blog, I see calls directly to http://elm-atl.com/blog/wp-content/themes/twentyten/….
So I know from this that you are, indeed, self hosted. As for who your host is… you really should know this, since you’re paying them.
