• Hi. I’m trying to start a webcomic using the WordPress/ComicPress combo, and I don’t know how WordPress wants me to name the files I’m trying to upload. Every name I try, it just keeps telling me “file name invalid.” Even when it had a name like “20081108,” it told me the same thing. What format are the names supposed to follow? Please help.

  • It is more likely you have not provided the proper file extension. That said, start file name with an alpha character.

I had been. First it was formatted like Name xx-xx-xxxx (the x’s were the numbers in the date), then I tried getting rid of the Name and the hyphens, then I tried putting back the Name and getting rid of the hyphens and spaces. Nothing worked. And all the names had the .jpg extension, too. This is really driving me crazy. What does it want from me?!

One cannot just make another file name a .jpg. Open said file file with an image editor and ‘saveas’ a .jpg

The files WERE created as jpegs. They weren’t just CALLED “.jpg.”
