Hi,
We would like some more information.
1. Can you confirm you are using the most recent Yoast SEO, v9.5? If you update, does the issue resolve?
2. Are all your non-Yoast plugins and themes also updated?
3. Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.0.3? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/.
4. What is Home > project-type > portfolio ? Is is a breadcrumb pathway on your site you are trying to change? Can you provide an example URL?

– Yes, it’s the breadcrumb path of the portfolios, we have created a few portfolios and categories, but the breadcrumb doesn’t follow the actual categories path…

Hi,
So we can get a better idea of what your expectations are, can you please tell us what your desired output is for the breadcrumbs in http://cheees.net/cheees/portfolio/1/?

If user click on sub category (0) of the breadcrumb, could it be:
http://cheees.net/cheees/product-type/0/
instead of
http://cheees.net/cheees/project-type/0/
?
Thanks.
