Hi

I am looking to sell tickets to an event…

total tickets = 40 – need to be able to limit the sales to 40 only.

Members Pricing will be £20
Non members will be £25

I ideally i would create 2 separate products, but be able to manage the inventory across the 2 products.

Would be possible for somebody to advise on the best way of achieving this ??

You can set up stock for the products then create coupons and send them to the members’ email.

Limiting sales to only 40 would require setting the overall amount of stock between the two products to 40 so that when this value reaches zero both products will be out of stock.

Since out of the box this is not possible with WooCommerce you may want to take a look at the Product Bundles extension. There is a use case on how to share inventory across products with WooCommerce here:

WooCommerce Role Based Pricing is another useful extension that empowers you to set your product prices based on user roles and individual customers. So this would be ideal to direct the customer to the right product based on their membership role.
