    Go to Settings > Permalinks and save. See if that resolves it.

    Translations usually.

    Could it be an SEO plugin also? This didn’t happen until I installed that.

    If it messes with custom post types, perhaps.

    Thanks folks – that worked! – I had same problem after updating to WP 4.5 (and Yoast SEO and a slew of translations) and it was doing my head in.

    FYI, the weird thing though was that, when I was troubleshooting it, the procuct category links broke even if all I updated was the twentyfifteen theme (which wasn’t even active) and didn’t touch anything else. Guess maybe that leans towards the translations theory?
