    Hi Folks,

Not a coder, but a shop owner. I’ve just realized my shipping and customs labels for international shipments have the wrong HTS Code for one of my products (a typo). I have gone into the Woocommerce product edit mode and insured that I have the proper attribute set up for this particular product, but when I print a shipping label or customs form, it shows the wrong code. (Other products do show the proper code). For the life of me I can’t find where these labels are pulling the data from. The fields they pull are:

Quantity / Country of Origin / Description of Contents / Harmonised Code / Weight / Unit / Value / Subtotal / Value

Can someone tell me where the label and form generation is pulling this data from so I may correct it for this one particular product? The data seems embedded somewhere not in the product setup page.

    Thanks,

    -Kenny

    Hi there,

Thank you for the details. From a WooCommerce core perspective, WooCommerce itself does not generate shipping labels or customs forms. That functionality is handled by third-party shipping or label plugins.

In many cases, these plugins pull attributes from the product or order metadata, including custom fields.

Since the labels are generated by a plugin, we recommend contacting the plugin’s support team to correct the HTS code for your product.

Could you please let us know which plugin you are using to generate the labels? That way, we can guide you in the right direction.

Thanks. I’m actually using Woocommerce Shipping (which morphed from the free version of Woocommerce Shipping and Tax) for label printing and generation.

I do have Easypost installed as a 3rd party shipping option but don’t use it other than to provide live rates to the customers on their checkout page. (I find Easypost label printing is cumbersome within Woocommerce.) So… as mentioned above, I’m using WooCommerce Shipping for purchasing and printing of my international labels

Thanks for any further help you can provide

    Hi Kenny,

Thanks again for sharing the details. Since WooCommerce core doesn’t generate shipping labels or customs forms, the issue you’re seeing with the HTS code is coming from WooCommerce Shipping, which handles label generation.

To make sure you get the right guidance, could you please post your concern in the dedicated support forum for WooCommerce Shipping here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce-shipping/. We will be able to dig into how the extension is pulling product metadata for your labels.

I’ll go ahead and mark this topic as resolved, and I look forward to hearing from you in the WooCommerce Shipping forum.
